Hi Bob, thanks very much for your message below. If you are looking to get your songs published, it might be worth contacting ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, for advice. They have a fab website at www.ascap.com where you can have a look for some ideas and even join up. Other than that, I don't know much about publishing at the moment I'm afraid. But all the best of luck to you! Astrid :o)

Hi Astrid   I am a   songwriter up here in Boston Ma. I am a non-musician songwriter.          I  just wrote some songs with a melody in my head and then I paid a local musician,   .one hundred dollars per song .  ( to listen to me sing the song and then to put an arrangement to it  with drums, bass,  guitar,  the works!) so now  _I’m surfing the web looking for ideas and suggestions,    ,’‘What do I do now, that I have the finished songs??'’. any ideas would be appreciated.        if you'd like a cd I'd be happy to send you one just to hear what you think! thanks bob  shea                                                                 ISLAND BOY! © 2003 Bob Shea        (as sung by female vox)         Walking down the street one day         I saw a boy he looked my way          I said,     ”Do you want to hear me sing my song?        All I ever want to be   all I ever want to be    all I ever want to be   is your love “        Now every time I see this boy        It fills my heart with such sweet joy         It makes me want to sing my island song         “Oh island boy eyes so bright sing your song for me tonight        Oh island boy you are the one for me “        Red sand and a golden tan        ooo yeah babe it’s a magical land        Island oasis by the sea         We’ll sing our songs dance thru the night        planning futures looking so bright        Oh island boy come sing your song to me        (Chorus)         Now our love will always be         Oh my darling you and me        On our isle oasis by the sea         Walk with me down to the beach        See the stars just out of reach         Oh island boy come sing your song for me        (Chorus)(Fade                                                                                        Lady Of Rio© 2003 Bob Shea        I know a girl from Rio   she loves to say        live your life  the right way !  live it everyday!!        and don’t ask  to give your love         don’t ask to feel the pain        just  give it  all of you  and you’ll never  feel the rain                       my lady of Rio my darling Maria                            my lady of Rio please stay true to me                                       while I work  and slave all day  in the U.S.A.                                my darling Maria  please stay true to me        Ooo that girl from Rio   she knows just what to say         to make me feel so warm inside   to drive the blues away         sing your song I sing your song        I have so much and then it’s gone         in a world so heartless and cruel         I’ll never lose hope as long as I’ve got you

I caught your Buckley tribute in Denmark Street the other night, quite by accident. Think I preferred your songs though.  There was some serious talent on display that night (musically speaking, of course), but you definitely shone through it all. Hope to see you again at some point - preferably at the Albert Hall! All the best...
Andy Hearn - Apr 02

You went up on stage  With Guitar in hand  Looked pensively at the mike  You the one woman band.    Your voice so beautiful  Was easy to love  Your songs reached all of us  Rather like hand to glove!    You lead us to dream  Of love and times gone by  In time we find  We’ve purified our hearts  With the fire and freed our comparing minds    We wanted to give you some thanks  For your music so gentle and warm  We want you to know  We’ll be there for you  In white sun, dark rain and storms
